About Carla
Carla Butler has built a strong volleyball career as both an outside hitter and libero, excelling at the collegiate and international levels. A graduate of Riccarton High School, she earned multiple MVP titles, NZSS Tournament Team honours, and was named Sportswoman of the Year in 2015.
Her U.S. collegiate journey began at Pasco Hernando State College (NJCAA), where she helped secure a Regional Championship and a 7th-place finish at NJCAA Nationals. She later competed for Hillsborough Community College before transferring to Auburn University at Montgomery (NCAA D2), earning All-Academic Honours and a place on the AUM All-Decade Team.
Carla has represented Aotearoa on the Youth National Team and Junior National Team, while also competing for Central Hauwhenua in the NVL and Canterbury in IPC. She has continued making an impact as a coach, working with Huntingdon College (NCAA D3) and Capital City Juniors, guiding teams to multiple championships.
Off the court, Carla holds a Bachelor's in Exercise Science and is pursuing a Master’s in Management Information Systems. Her dedication to volleyball and academics continues to inspire young athletes in Aotearoa and beyond.
