About Josh

Josh Tiplady has developed into a powerful outside hitter, making his mark in both the New Zealand and North American volleyball scenes. Originally from Taupō, he began his volleyball journey at Taupō-nui-a-Tia College, where he helped establish the school’s volleyball programme before transferring to Western Heights High School, where he won the New Zealand Secondary Schools National Championship in 2018.

His pathway took him to the U.S., where he played for Missouri Valley College (NAIA, Heart of America Conference) while studying Exercise Science. He later returned to New Zealand, continuing to play at a high level in domestic competitions.

Josh has also competed in both beach and indoor volleyball, earning a spot on the NZ A Beach Volleyball Team and competing with Western Bay of Plenty Phoenix, where he secured a 2nd-place finish in 2023 and a 3rd-place finish in 2024 at New Zealand Club Nationals.

With his physicality and competitive experience, Josh continues to be a dominant presence in both indoor and beach volleyball.
