Josh Watson has built a strong volleyball career both in Aotearoa and overseas, establishing himself as a powerful outside hitter. A former student at Shirley Boys’ High School, he was an active member of the school’s volleyball program and part of the sports council.

He began his university studies at the University of Otago, where he pursued Health Sciences before moving to Canada to further his educational and volleyball career. He started at Northwestern Polytechnic (NWP), studying Business Marketing while competing in the ACAC Conference. He then transferred to the NAIT Ooks, where he has been a key contributor to the team’s success, helping secure both the Provincial and National Championships in the 2023-24 season.

Josh has also represented New Zealand at the national level, competing for the Junior National U21 Team in 2020 and as a member of the Volley Blacks squad since 2023. With experience at both the domestic and international levels, he continues to push his game to new heights, balancing competitive volleyball with his academic pursuits.
