About Katie

Katie Adamson is a dominant middle blocker with a wealth of international and professional experience. After honing her skills at Waimea College, she took her talents to the U.S., competing for the University of Louisiana (NCAA DI, Sun Belt) before transferring to Saint Leo University (NCAA DII, Sunshine State), where she completed a BSc in Biology.

On the international stage, Katie has been a key player for the Volley Ferns since 2015, representing Aotearoa in high-level competitions across Asia, Oceania, and South America. She also competed for the NZ U19 National Team, gaining valuable experience against top teams in Vietnam and the USA.

Her professional career saw her excel in Austria’s top division, where she competed for PSV Salzburg and SG Prinz Brunnenbau Volleys. Off the court, she pursued her passion for biomechanics, earning a MEng in Bioengineering from the University of Auckland. With a deep understanding of both the physical and technical aspects of the game, Katie remains dedicated to supporting & mentoring the next generation of athletes.
