Liam Matheson

About Liam

Liam is a seasoned volleyball player and strength and conditioning coach from Tauranga. He attended Otumoetai College from 2008 to 2012, where he began his journey in volleyball. Liam represented Aotearoa in the U19 Beach Volleyball World Championships in 2012 (Cyprus) and 2013 (Portugal), achieving a notable 16th place finish.

Pursuing higher education in Canada, Liam attended Brandon University from 2013 to 2018, earning a Bachelor of Physical Education. He continued his volleyball career at Keyano College from 2018 to 2019, obtaining a Certificate of Business. During his collegiate career, he received numerous accolades, including U-Sport Academic All-Canadian and CCAA Academic All-Canadian honours.

Liam played professionally for Amstetten VC in Austria's League One during the 2019-2020 season, gaining valuable international experience.

Transitioning into personal training, Liam now focuses on strength and conditioning, offering specialized programs to enhance athletic performance. His expertise in physical education and experience as a high-level athlete provide a strong foundation for his coaching endeavours.
