Marnie Ursem has quickly risen as one of Aotearoa’s most promising middle blockers. A leader at Orewa College, she captained the school’s premier volleyball team to a 2nd place finish at Nationals in 2023 while earning Auckland Champs Tournament MVP. That same year, she was named Orewa College Sports Person of the Year and served as Head Girl.

Her rapid development earned her selection as the Captain of the NZ U20 Team for the 2024 Asian Championships in China. She also competed internationally as a member of the Volley Ferns on the 2023 Chile Tour and played a key role in helping Raiders Women's A Team win the Division 1 title in 2023.

Marnie recently completed her first year at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she competes in the NCAA DI Coastal Athletic Association. Balancing academics and high-performance volleyball, she continues to push her game to new heights while representing Aotearoa on the international stage.
