About Rachael
Rachael Gunn’s volleyball journey has taken her across continents, proving her passion and dedication to the sport. She made her mark at Rangitoto College, where she played a pivotal role in securing a DII Nationals title in 2012 and a 4th place finish in 2015. Her strong performances earned her selections in tournament teams at both Nationals and Auckland Champs.
Rachael pursued collegiate volleyball in the United States, competing for Eastern Florida State College (NJCAA D1) before transferring to Bethel University (NAIA), where she became the SSAC Player of the Year, an NAIA First-Team All-American, and an All-Conference standout. She briefly started a master’s in Sports Psychology at the University of Tennessee before COVID-19 altered her plans.
Her professional career has taken her to Kosovo and Austria, but she is currently playing in Greece with AOF Porfyras. A long-time member of the Volley Ferns, Rachael remains a dominant force in both indoor and beach volleyball, coaching and competing at the highest levels.
