About Simon

Simon Xiao has carved out a path as a disciplined and intelligent libero, bringing a sharp defensive presence to the court. Raised in Auckland, he developed his foundation at Westlake Boys High School before extending his academic career to United World College ISAK Japan.

Simon then shifted to the NCAA DI Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) with the Ivy League powerhouse Princeton University, where he studies Politics with a minor in East Asian Studies. His ability to read the game and deliver under pressure helped Princeton secure an EIVA tournament runner-up finish and a national ranking as high as #10 in 2023-24.

Having played for Harbour IPC on and off since 2017, Simon continues to refine his craft, bringing a calculated and high-energy approach to the libero position. His journey reflects the balance of academic ambition and elite athletic competition, proving that student-athletes can excel in both arenas.
