Sophie Young has established herself as a skilled setter, excelling both on the indoor and beach volleyball circuits. A graduate of Nayland College, she made an impact early on, helping her team win the NZSS Beach Volleyball National Championship while also earning a spot on the NZSS Indoor Tournament Team.

Her collegiate career began at Parkland College, where she helped lead her team to an NJCAA DII National Championship in 2021. She later transferred to Long Island University (NCAA DI, NEC), where she won the NEC Conference Championship in 2023 and competed in the NCAA Tournament. She completed her degree in Social Science with a certificate in International Relations and Diplomacy.

Sophie’s experience in international volleyball includes competing with the NZ Junior Beach Team on a USA Tour and representing the South Island Team at the Australian Junior Championships. With a well-rounded skill set and experience at all levels of the game, she continues to make her mark in the sport.
