About Tyler
Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, but raised in Aotearoa, Tyler Wilson has made a name for himself as an effective opposite. A standout at Rototuna High School and later Hillcrest High School, he was recognised as the MVP of the Waikato Secondary Schools Volleyball Championship in 2023.
His collegiate journey led him to St. Thomas University, where he competes in the ACAA Conference while continuing to develop his game at a high level. He has also played for club teams such as Huskies and Nesian, as well as representing Waikato at the U19, U23, and Open Men’s levels.
Tyler's impact extends beyond the court, as he has already begun sharing his knowledge with younger players, coaching the senior volleyball team at Rototuna High School. With his strong physical presence and leadership qualities, he is on track to make a lasting impact in the sport.
